Words to Live By

I’ve included several of the many quotes that inspire, challenge, encourage, remind, direct, motivate, compel, influence, embolden, and hearten me.

The words are from literary masterpieces, politicians, athletes, activists, and authors.

These quotes may be very familiar, but  we all need good words to fill our bucket over and over and over.

Philippians 4:8 is my favorite verse from The Word—a clear directive to live by!

Truly…I pray this again and again!

A constant reminder that my heart be etched in love and gratitude.

May bravery and courage be ever present guides.

Adventure and create new paths.

The real you and the real me are lovely.

Live in such a way as to not carry regrets.

I give credence to the critics at times. They can be hard to tune out. Admittedly, I am my own worst critic.

AA Milne based Christopher Robin on his son and the other characters on his son’s stuffed animals. When I got a good report card, my mom let me pick out any book I wanted. I was very young when I chose the book, Winnie the Pooh, but it holds deep wisdom for the ages.

My heart needs this. The world needs this.

Where would I be without friends?

The blessing of a good life.

Good grief. Maybe this is how I came up with that term?

I believe participation in athletics prepares us for life in so many ways. Michael Jordan’s words motivate me to remember failure is a component of success and the path to it is paved with hard work and skinned knees, both from falling down and praying.

Those last two lines…I keep making plans and fulfilling them.

Share in the comment section the words you live by.
